Hey guys hope you will get more rest this Easter break before we go mad with the deadline!

I have research about Sheffield city and I found some pictures of history of Dore from the 1900s. I found footage of old Sheffield from 1960 to 70s. its about the city centre. I have really good ideas with about how I’ll edit. I can download from youtube about Sheffield history. We’ll talk about Sheffield city build up historical pictures of the city from past to present and future. Then we will talk about how Sheffield will improve in the future. I took the footage from youtube. I think it’s a great idea with for our film. I think we need focus two or three ways about Sheffield change life, Rich area and poor area and development.

What do you think?

I think we should meet up before so we can film our project. when are you free for film after easter? I can do Monday 12th April all day, tues 13th before 4pm, Wednesday 14th and friday 16th too!

if you want more help you can go on these links.

Hey I hope you all had a great easter and are now ready to get cracking on with this ever so daunting documentary.

I just want to let you guys know that I managed to conduct a little research during the break and found some information about certain charities and campaigns opting for change to create a world without poverty.

It seems the forces that stand at the forefront of this ongoing battle are Christian Aid and Help The Aged: two wordwide charitable organisations that accord to the plain and simple ethos of eradicating poverty in all walks of life. And luckily enough, they are both active within the Sheffield community, with branches scattered all across the city; no further than a short bus journey from the city centre itself.

I also found an extensive document commissioned by the Children and Young People's Directorate: a briefing paper outlining approaches to addressing child poverty in Sheffield. This may prove to be useful if we are hopefully given the chance to question figureheads about this one of many areas of poverty to hear their opinion on the matter and what their doing about it.

I was able to track down some useful articles concerning fuel poverty in Sheffield, and eventually discovered a campaign run by Sheffield City Council - HEAT Sheffield: a roadshow to help spread information throughout Sheffield on tackling this ailment.

Last but not least, I have booked out camera, sound and lighting equipment for the entire week and have information on how to get in touch with most of the organisations discussed above, to schedule a convenient time for us all to go and interview some talking heads, or anyone who posseses the knowledge and has gone through the experience of working with the people who find themselves stricken by these unfortunate circumstances, not to mention the people themselves. I think only then would they be trustworthy enough to give us an accurate take on how the situation really is as to what would otherwise be an incredibly widespread investigation.

Therefore I think we should meet up sometime this week to agree upon a production schedule, compile all of the findings we have gathered over the course of the holiday so that we can separate the relevant sources from the rest of the pile, and discuss how the structure of the piece will unfold.

All the best

Reneshia Bennett April 19 at 10:13pm
I have a japanese lesson but we can meet before writing for film.
Kasim Ahmed April 20 at 8:07am Reply
if we can skip writing for film 4 to 6pm and instead have group meeting? I can't make it in the middle like 3 to 4pm.
Reneshia Bennett April 20 at 9:48am
oh ok
Daniel Sieff April 20 at 11:08am Reply
Hey I havn't yet received a response from the emails I sent to the local charities so I am going to phone them instead. Also one is about a five minute walk from where I live so I suppose I will just pay a visit and see what's going on and see if anyone is willing to be interviewed today. As for the rest of the footage around rich/poor areas, would it be okay if someone else got that because I've got too much work going on at the moment?

I'm not to sure about skipping the seminar because I couldn't make it to the one last week. But I can still meet up earlier today.
Kasim Ahmed April 20 at 11:38am Reply

Where do you want to meet? Is it okay if I could use your camera tomos for the interview at Oxfam?
Daniel Sieff April 23 at 1:48pm Reply
I've now done the interview at oval and have given it to kasim to edit. I've also scheduled one for monday at st lukes.

Josh, kasim told me that you're a bit confused about what we're all doing and that you want to sort out the blog and perhaps read the voice over. I was thinking once you've got it up and running you could also copy and paste all of our posts from facebook onto it and also if you want to start the sound edit with me next week where I can update you on what's going on.

I'd also like to see a copy of the voice over but I don't mind who will be reading it.
Daniel Sieff April 23 at 1:51pm Reply
Sorry the interview was at oxfam, not oval. :P
Kasim Ahmed April 24 at 1:49am Reply
Hey, Our progress is getting better and better. We should all meet up next week on Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon like 2pm.

Dan, I captured your film about Sheffield city it looks like excellent stuff. I will edit and create the doc. Yesterday you did film with interview about Oxfam. The shot was good. The footage is 5 minutes long and our doc has to be 10 minutes long as we have to include other clips too. Can you edit the clip because I can’t, as I don’t understand what she’s saying. I’ve captured it on to my hard drive so ill give the copy. If you edit it and then give it back to me so I can include it. Josh, if you want to edit it too.

Reneshia, Have you finished filming in poor areas? Plan to writing the script?

Next week we have to finish with film and interview before Friday 30th April 2010 and in the last week we’ll discuss about sound recording and you all doing edit too. I don’t want to be last minutes before the presentation on May 7th because I have had some worst experience from the first year.
Kasim Ahmed April 27 at 8:18pm Reply
hey guys, can we meet up at 1pm tomorrow for some discussion . . . . I have finished editing with the opening, the end and Dore (richer place).

Am waiting for editing for Poor place. Has anyone done that? Reneshia? hope everything goes well.
